Style Icons

I don't really have any style icons but i think Gok Wan and Lady Gaga play very different roles in the fashion industry which helps to make it so versatile in todays world. Fashion and Makeup are very important to me however i don't really tend to follow any trends if i like something then i tend to mix and match it with something else.

Gok Wan

Gok Wan plays a vital role in today’s fashion industry. He uses make-up and clothes to enhance a persons own features and therefore raises their self worth. He is best known for his t.v show “How To Look Good Naked” which concentrates on ordinary members of the public. I like him because he teaches females how to be comfortable in their own bodies- no matter shape or size- and embrace their best features. Gok Wan shows people how to present themselves in the best possible way. He illustrates how make-up and fashion can be used as tools to enhance appearance and ultimately boost self esteem and well-being.

  



Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga is one of today’s most creative fashions icons. I like her because she constantly changes her image and everyone knows Lady Gaga and her characters but the real person behind the mask is never revealed to the public and so an air of mystery surrounds her. She appears to have no boundaries regarding costumes- both on and off stage. She frequently uses props such as wigs, hats, and shoes to complete her transformation. Make-up is a vital part of her image as it creates a mask she can hide behind and also further emphasise her look at that particular time.
